This project will result in a NIST Cybersecurity Practice Guide and will be part one of a four-part series.

The framework provides a common language to categorize and describe cybersecurity work that will help organizations build a strong labor staff to protect systems and data.

The NCWF can be viewed as a cybersecurity workforce dictionary that will allow employers, educators, trainers, and those in the workforce to use consistent terms to describe cybersecurity work.

For this project, the NCCo E and EL will examine behavioral anomaly detection and prevention mechanisms, to support a multifaceted approach of counteracting cyber attacks against ICS devices that provide the functionality necessary to run manufacturing processes.

The goal is to provide industry with detailed information to establish an anomaly detection and prevention capability in their own environments.

The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCo E) has posted a draft Project Description on the topic of Capabilities Assessment for Securing Manufacturing Industrial Control Systems.
